An ex-trucker is living with the consequences after exposing the left side of his face to the sun every day for 28 years. The 69 year old suffers from extreme sagginess and wrinkles on one side of the face, the other ageing as normal with few wrinkles. His condition is called unilateral dermatoheliosis, or ‘photoaging’, a result of chronic exposure to the sun’s UV rays. Since he drove a truck, only half his face was affected as the sunlight through the window hit only his left side.
We know that living in beautiful Australia, with its tempting beaches and vast fun outdoor activities, it can be easy to forget to protect ourselves from the sun. That is why we at Peter A. Martin in Sydney, promote being sun safe as well as providing treatments for those who are feeling the effects of premature aging because of the harsh sun.
We also have many other treatments for other conditions, including cosmetic eyelid surgery, dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections.
